Request a Criminal Record Check

To get a criminal record check, you must attend in person to Brandon Police Service, located at 1340 10th street in Brandon, Monday to Friday, between 8am and 3pm. You must provide two valid pieces of Identification, one having a current photo, address, and Date of Birth. Advise the front desk attendant you require a criminal record check. They will provide you with the paperwork you will need to fill out. You may also download the forms located on this page and fill them in beforehand to bring in when you come to get your check done. Payment must be received prior to any processing of Criminal Record Checks. There is a one-week waiting period, providing the applicant has resided in the City of Brandon within the last five years. The records of this Service and National Repository, Ottawa (RCMP-CPIC) are searched under the subject’s name and date of birth. The results will indicate: No criminal record Charges are pending in Court A record may exist in the Nation Repository but cannot be disclosed unless verified by fingerprint comparison. This can be made with the submission of a complete set of fingerprints to: INFORMATION AND IDENTIFICATION SERVICES CANADIAN CRIMINAL RECORD INFORMATION SERVICES BOX 8886 OTTAWA, ONTARIO K1G 3M8 For a sensitive position of trust: Persons requiring a Criminal Record Search Certification to obtain a position of trust that requires the applicant to work or volunteer with children, seniors, or challenged persons ONLY must complete and authorize the Brandon Police Service to conduct a Vulnerable Sector Search.
